Over years of normal use, some screws and hinges may need to be tightened, or drawers and runners adjusted for peak performance.

  • Hinge Adjustments
We construct our vanities with durable, high-performance hinges that will operate smoothly and silently for years. Periodically, you should tighten hinge screws, because they can loosen over time with normal use.
  • Drawer Front Adjustments
If a drawer front looks crooked, first measure at each  end of the drawer front to see if the height is the same.  If not, then adjustments need to be made. Note: This adjustment can only be made by a certified Dickson Vanity technician, charges may apply. • Drawer Runner Adjustments
We construct our cabinetry using several types of self-adjusting drawer suspension systems. Which type depends primarily on the style chosen, and the basic drawer function.  Note: This adjustment should only be made by a certified Dickson Vanity technician, charges may apply. Wood Cabinet Surfaces

As with all wood products, avoid excessive moisture. Dickson Vanity products are designed for use inside the home or other buildings and is not intended for outdoor applications. Once your vanity has been installed, wipe down all exteriors with a damp cloth to remove dust. Complete a small area at a time and wipe dry. Wood vanity finishes may be cleaned and protected by using any commercially available cleaning polish. Dickson recommends an emulsion-type cleaner (such as Murphy's Oil Soap) or wood furniture polish (such as Pledge).

For stubborn stains, it may be necessary to use a mild detergent with warm water. Always dry the surface immediately.

Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or powdered cleansers.

Formica Cabinet Surfaces

Exterior and interior Formica panels are extremely durable and designed to give you years of beauty and trouble-free service. UV doors and drawer fronts are sprayed and treated to resist stains, dirt, and grime build-up. They can be cleaned with most nonabrasive household cleaners. However, agents containing acetone, acetate or ethyl alcohol should not be used. Harsh solvents and/or abrasives such as turpentine may break down bonds on edge-banding and should also be avoided. Ammonia cleaners should be diluted. Certain waxes may lead to discoloration and are not recommended.

If a damp cloth does not sufficiently clean an area, a non-detergent, nonabrasive household cleaner (such as Murphy's Oil Soap) is recommended. For stubborn stains, use mineral spirits (such as Nature Sol).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Apply solvents to a clean cloth and never directly to the cabinet surface. Never leave a cloth moistened with solvents on a cabinet surface for any length of time.

Dickson currently does not offer additional options on handles or drawer pulls. However, Dickson does 'pre-drill' handle and drawer pull holes into the vanity for the standard handles and pulls. If you would like to install your own choice of special handle/pull-- please request the 'pre-drillings' not be put into the vanity when placing your order. However, please note, damages incurred by improper drilling are the sole responsibility of the homeowner; not the responsibility of Dickson-- and door and drawer parts can be replaced at a cost.
